I’d be lying if I said that this year has been the best ever.  It’s been difficult trying to navigate through life without being trampled on by all that continues to be thrown my way.  From dealing with the threat of a virus, social unrest, and the political madness that swarms around, it all can be quite taxing on the psyche. Perhaps you can relate.

If you’re like me, you began the year having a number of lofty goals that you wanted to accomplish.  But like me you wonder, is it still possible to move forward and complete my goals without being sidetracked by everything in the world—even as we enter the fourth quarter of the year?  I believe that the answer to the question is ‘yes’. With a bit of focus, organization, and intentional living, you can accomplish most anything that you set your mind to.

‘But really, how do I successfully move forward?’, you ask.

For me, my faith plays a huge role in all that I do and is my compass as I travel through tumultuous waters. It is what grounds me and keeps me centered as I work toward accomplishing my goals. Do I stumble? Yes. Do I doubt myself? Yes. Do I wonder how the hec I got to a certain point? Yes.  But, do I allow my faith to fuel and strengthen my spirit and craft my purpose so that I can reach the finish line? By all means, YES!

Find that one thing that motivates you and allow it to propel you along your journey.  That thing can come in various forms—your faith walk; your family and friends; nature; a thought, idea, or words of wisdom; or even quick interactions with strangers you encounter throughout the day.  If you haven’t determined what your driving force is, I encourage you to take a few moments to define this for yourself.  Grab something to write with (or your tablet or phone to jot notes in), carve out some time in your day when you can have some ‘alone time’, and hide away in quiet place where you can think about what really motivates you. It may take a bit of soul searching and it may require a follow-up session or two with yourself, but I promise you in the end, it will be worth it!  Once you have defined what motivates you, post your thoughts in a place where you will see it in order to be continually encouraged.  With that, you’ll be better armed, focused, and ready to travel the path to your goal.

Be well and move forward to success this year, my friend!
